The best time to visit to spot elephants, leopards and other animals is during the dry season, which runs from May to September. During this time, animals gather around water sources, making them easier to spot. The rainy season, which runs from October to January, brings lush greenery and is the best time to witness the bird migration. Sri Lanka has over 430 bird species, with the migration season bringing in many rare and beautiful species.
